Things are Changing

Hey everyone! It has been a hot minute since we wrote a blog post, but we thought – heck why not! We just relaunched the website, and you all deserve an update.

As many of you already know Dom (Outreach & Communications) is on a temporary leave of absence to pursue new possibilities. During his time away we have welcomed Dylan into the Greenhouse Project as Interim Outreach and Communications. You may remember Dylan from the autumn, they designed the satisfaction survey that we have been circulating the past year, and they interned with Hamidou Horticulture on the 13th floor from 2022 – 2023. The majority of social media responses, emails, and events requests will be going through them these days.

They are also the reason that we have this brand new website! we are very excited to have a new design (the old design hadn’t been updated since 2016, and needed a lot of love and repair). Going forward the site will be more intuitive and announcements will be much easier to find on the front page. Not all of the pages have been overhauled yet so a few things are missing still. We are working on new and more informative descriptions, and will slowly release those pages as the content comes available. You may have also noticed we are missing some blog posts, actually all of the blog posts. We are importing, organizing, and re-posting them over the summer, as well as updating missing links and resources.

Finally, as we approach summer we will be hosting fewer events and workshops in our 7th floor space as we will be at the Loyola gardens helping the working groups with their gardens. Many of them are still actively seeking volunteers, so if you would like the chance to get your hands dirty this summer and hang out with some really nice folks swing by their websites and see who you might like to work with. (Volunteer hours can be put towards your co-curricular record, and in some cases some groups may still have internship possibilities, ask them directly about both.)
