TWO Herbal Garden Internships (Positions Filled)
The Concordia Greenhouse Project is seeking two enthusiastic Herbal Garden Interns as part of their City Herbal Apprenticeship Program (CHAP) to join our team in supporting the care and maintenance of our perennial herb garden at the Loyola Campus. Working alongside the CHAP Coordinator and Concordia Greenhouse Project staff, the interns will gain hands-on experience in urban agriculture, sustainability practices, and community engagement. They will also co-facilitate a bi-weekly summer program for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth (13 – 18yo).
This internship offers a unique learning opportunity to connect ecological restoration with community-based education and sustainable food systems within a non-hierarchical, collaborative environment.

Grant Internship
Ella Yazbek-MacDonald (2026)
This position offered hands-on experience in non-profit funding strategies, project development, and professional writing skills transferable to careers in research, community organizations, and policy. By engaging with the grant process, our intern contributed to the Greenhouse’s sustainability and supported 7th-floor programming and funding for future internships.
Archival Internship (2025)
This hands-on experience was designed to build skills in digital content management, communications, and archival skills by reformatting and fact checking over a decade’s worth of blog posts, ensuring they’re accessible and accurate.
Communications & Outreach Survey
Dylan Kinsman (2024)
After our move from the 13th floor to the 7th floor, we welcomed a student intern who created an Outreach Survey to assess how the student body felt about the greenhouse and it’s displacement. The content is currently being drafted into a zine.
Houseplant Propagation Intern
Sam Henle (2022)
This internship offered practical experience in botany, including propagation of indoor tropical plants, greenhouse operations, and the significance of indoor green spaces. Our intern also engaged in experimental research on the effectiveness of different rooting hormones and developed mobile educational workshops to teach propagation techniques.
