Once a semester the greenhouse lets loose a little, and facilitates some good ol’ partying right where we grow hothouse plants from citrus fruit, to fig trees, to culinary herbs, to microgreens. This year Halloween falls on a Wednesday, so we thought we’d spook up the greenhouse for a school night Halloween haunting! We’re transforming Concordia’s rooftop oasis (that’s the greenhouse!) into a mesmerising and creepy jungle of merriment, complete with a night of music, film, dance, and (of course) candy!
The cost of entrance is on a sliding scale from $5-$10 – this is a fundraiser extravaganza, after all! Your generous donation entitles you to:
- popcorn
- candy
- your chance to win a super-cool mystery urban agriculture prize
- the lovely Fruiting Bodies vocal trio
- Julia Feltam, cellist extraordinaire from Halifax
- a dance party finale accompanied by screenings of fine Halloween classics, including Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, and the like
We always have a real swell time. We hope you can join us for the fun and for the support! Costumes are (almost) mandatory. Come haunt the greenhouse with us this Wednesday night (October 31st) from 7:30pm-11pm at the Concordia Greenhouse, 1455 de Maisonneuve Blvd. W. 13th floor.
