COMING UP AT THE GREENHOUSE

NEW VOLUNTEER SESSION!

Due to the amazing enthusiasm we have had with our Monday volunteering sessions, we are pleased to announce that the Greenhouse will be adding additional sessions all semester on Tuesdays from 2-4pm. THUS, as of October 7th, volunteer sessions will be offered on Mondays and Tuesdays from 2-4pm.

Mondays – Join us with our new food production volunteer sessions! Work with herbs, greens and some vegetables.

Tuesdays – Help us out with our atrium gardens and house plant propagation!

Please note these are the only opportunities we have for volunteering at this time. No need to reserve in advance, just stop by at 2pm to participate.

Join Liza Charbel of Gardens without Borders to learn how to operate your own hydroponic vertical window farm! Grow your own food year round right in your apartment! ART IN THE ATRIUM

October 14th, 5-7pm

Come get creative in our Atrium lounge oasis this winter with bi-weekly open craft sessions. Bring your own supplies or join our themed activities. This event is FREE! Bring a friend, open to everyone.

HOT TOPICS IN URBAN AGRICULTURE: VERMI-COMPOSTING INFORMATION SESSION

October 16th, 5-7pm

Vermicompost is the product or process of composting using various worms to create a super nutrient-rich compost – which is great for your garden! Learn how to make your own vermi-composting unit with worms, and how to manage it successfully! Workshoping includes a pound of red wriggler worms to get started!

TOURS AND MARKET DAY 

October 20th, 2-5pm

This monthly day includes FREE 20-minute guided tours at 3 and 4pm of our various growing projects as well as information about volunteering and upcoming events. We will also have many tea blends available, along with our freshly cut home-grown micro-greens for you to try. Also, don`t miss our greenhouse pop-up shop with locally produced items for sale!

CLOTHING SWAP

October 22nd, 5-7pm

Join the Montreal Swap Club for it`s first ever clothing swap at the Greenhouse! Please bring clean and undamaged clothing only to exchange for something new-to-you.

Everyone welcome. Please note we do not have a changeroom or bathroom within the greenhouse.

ART IN THE ATRIUM – HALLOWEEN THEME

October 28th, 5-7pm

Our second ‘Art in the Atrium’ October event is going to be very relevantly Halloween themed! Bring your own supplies or join our themed decoration projects as well as Jack-o-Lantern carving (bring your own pumpkin, apples, squash or potato!). It shall be a spooky yet delightful evening! FREE! Bring a friend, open to everyone.

HALLOWEEN PARTY

October 31st, 7-10pm

Celebrate Halloween with us up at the Greenhouse! We’ll be grooving with some soulful live music, healthy snacks and friendly folks in our rooftop garden oasis! MAKE SURE TO WEAR A COSTUME! Free! After-party in downtown Montreal!
